We found an excellent hotel in Guadalajara, Mexico called Hotel Morales.
My husband and I loved pretty much everything about staying at this lovely hotel.
It is in the historical downtown area. It is an architecturally beautiful building which seems to have been nicely updated with modern amenities and comforts.
It is located in the heart of historic downtown and within walking distance to tourist spots and if we got tired we just walked back to the hotel.
Guadalajara is lovely and we enjoyed walking and found it easy and safe to walk everywhere as we were in such a great central location.
Planing to visit Mexico!

For those destinations too far to walk, there were always taxis available when we needed one. We had requested a room on the quieter side of the hotel, but unfortunately none were available at check-in, which at first was disappointing.
We had the choice of an inner courtyard room or a room on the 'noisier' side along Avenida Corona.
Because we preferred a window with a view out to the street and are used to city noises and activity, we chose the noisier room.
We didn't find this to be a problem at all as we are sound sleepers, and also because we go to bed fairly late ourselves.
Our room was very clean and so comfortable (as were the hotel's common areas as well).
We found the size of the room to be just right, with a little sitting area for relaxing and reading. The staff was friendly and very responsive.
I am learning Spanish and had some fun conversations with wonderful staff members who were so patient with me, and even happy to let me practice speaking with them in my remedial Spanish.
This hotel is very inexpensive for the class it is in and all that it offers.
We highly recommend it and would certainly stay there again when we find ourselves returning to Guadalajara.
