Hotel Isabel

The Hotel Isabel is a wonderful hotel in Guadalajara, Mexico with a lot of convenience.

There’s a small store right across the street, which are called tienda de abarrotes. They're like convenience stores but smaller. You will find snacks, sodas, water, cookies and the typical items sold at convenience stores. I think you’ll find it very helpful, especially if you forget to pack your toothbrush!

The Hotel Isabel staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and so are the beds! There are 2 full beds per room. It is enough to fit about 4 people, depending on how you like your bed! They also offer rooms with kitchenettes with monthly rates.

The hotel rooms do not have air conditioning, but this is because the weather is usually so pleasant you don’t really need it. I simply opened my windows and let that cool breeze rush right in.

The hotel has a beautiful crystal clear pool surrounded by a lovely garden. At nighttime you might catch a very sweet fragrance of some kind of flowering plant. We walked around the pool area at night to find the source and sadly couldn’t find it. I guess there’s always next time! Let’s see if you can find out what it is.

Another plus for Hotel Isabel is their great restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It even has a nice view of the pool and garden. Their breakfast will get you off to a good start for the day. I absolutely loved the fresh bolillos (a thick white bread). They serve it with your meals and it’s just delicious with a splat of butter.

If you need to use a computer, there is one right by the reception desk with internet access. And if you brought your own car or rental you can feel secure at night because the parking lot is right by your room and the entry gate is closed at nighttime. Don’t worry, if you need to go out or coming home late, there is always somebody in the main office to open it up for you.

When you’re ready to retire for the night they also have cable TV so you can wind down for the evening in comfort. Some of the other amenities include room service, housekeeping, they can even do your laundry. How is that for service! As they say: “Old world charm with new world service.” I hope you enjoy this Guadalajara hotel.
