Guadalajara Soccer Games
Gooooool!
En Español
In Guadalajara, soccer is the most popular sport by far and so much fun to watch.
There are
3 first division Guadalajara soccer teams: Club Deportivo Guadalajara or
Chivas de Guadalajara, Los Zorros de
Atlas and La Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) or
Tecos for short.
If you have another favorite Mexican soccer team then view all the other jerseys for sale.
There are 2 stadiums where the Mexican soccer league games are played.
Estadio Jalisco (Jalisco Stadium) and
El Tres de Marzo (March 3rd) ... yes, you're not the only one that finds that funny!
Jalisco Stadium is where Chivas and Atlas soccer teams play.
El Tres de Marzo is where the soccer team Tecos (UAG) play their games.
The Chivas of Guadalajara are one of the most popular soccer teams at the national level and one of the oldest. Something
very unique about Chivas Mexican soccer players is that they are the only team in Mexico that
require all players to be
born in Mexico.
Needless to say, they are extremely popular all over the country. Their popularity even prompted the release of Chivas U.S.A. soccer team.
If you have never been to a soccer game, then seeing one while you're in Guadalajara is an absolute must! And if you already love soccer then you'll really want to go and catch a game.
Honestly, I wasn't really interested in seeing a game myself. But
once I arrived and experienced it, I was completely converted to being a
superfan of soccer.
Seeing a soccer game live is an
experience like no other.
Once you're there and sitting in the packed stadium a wonderful thrill and camaraderie just takes over. You'll really
feel the passion that Guadalajara soccer spectators have for this fun and exciting sport.
You'll find yourself
cheering, yelling and jumping up and down with everyone else for your favorite team.
My all time favorite is
Chivas. Go Chivas! When I went to a game I was really blown away by the atmosphere. All in all, the conditions were absolutely perfect for people of all ages.
You do have to
be careful when there is a very important game going on such as any of the following rival teams playing each other: Chivas, Atlas and America. There will be huge crowds and tons of people going in and out.
Just be cautious especially if you are elderly or have very young children but normally Jalisco Stadium is very organized and quite safe.
The
prices for games will vary depending on where your seats are! The games are usually on Saturdays and Sundays with a few exceptions. A few times a year they'll have a game on Wednesday or Thursday. For more information pick up a local newspaper for up to date schedules.
Like all stadiums, there are vendors who walk up and down the aisles selling popcorn, beer and sodas. Perfect atmosphere for a perfect game.
Get ready for fun at the stadium! Guadalajara soccer games are something you won't want to miss!
